Corelle Coordinates Simple Lines 6-Piece Microwave Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased these to go with Corelle plates that I purchased and they matched my pattern. I assumed they would be "Corelle" these do not say "Corelle" on the product anywhere, on the bottom the brand name appears to be "Eurita" (it is difficult to read) by Reston Lloyd Ltd. Does not indicate country of origin.
Arrived timely however they are fairly thin and very light weight but they serve a limited purpose.
The lids go on over a raised lip at the top and appear to seal well. The problem is that they are difficult to remove. On the bottom of the product it states they are dishwasher, microwave and freezer "OK". It does not say dishwasher, freezer and microwave "safe". Maybe it is just a selection of words. I have, in the past, always seen microwave "save", etc.
Can not use in a conventional oven or under a browning element.

(More customer reviews)I got this model because it was inexpensive and GE has a good reputation. Also, microwave ovens are a pretty much a commodity. It really doesn't matter which one you get. All units with the same amount of power work the same way. They all have carousels.
The problem with this model is that the keypad is very stiff. I have to press each key very firmly, sometimes more than once to get it to register. If I can find the packing, I may return it. I should have gotten a comparably sized Kenmore, like the one we have in the office.

The kiln is very easy to use and seems to do exactly what it says it will, fusing small glass projects in three minutes in the microwave. I made a bunch of pendants and some very small earrings and learned that it is possible to fire a few small items in the kiln simultaneously, which saves on shelf paper. If the purpose of the kit is to intrigue potential glass hobbyists, it's very successful. I can't wait to learn and do more with glass!

I frequently make cards with dried flowers and leaves and love the ability to pick something and use it the same day. It can take a while to master the power of an individual microwave, but once that is understood the Microwave Flower Press makes short work of flower drying. Some flowers are better than others for drying. White flowers, for example, are easy to scorch and take careful watching. Flowers with thick centers like daisies need to have the delicate petals protected with damp paper or cloth while the center dries completely but even "mistakes" can turn into lovely art. (More customer reviews)I've cooked a couple dozen strips of turkey bacon (3 at a time) on this and have been happy with the results. They recommend starting at 1 minute nuking for each strip of bacon (3 strips? Nuke 3 minutes) and adjust more or less from there. For Butterball turkey bacon I found 3 minutes to be a little too long -- turkey bacon doesn't have as much fat as pork belly bacon and was too dry. The next time I cooked turkey bacon, I only nuked it for 2:45 minutes and it came out fine. I finished the first package of turkey bacon and opened a new one of a different brand (Godshall's -- it was on sale). The Godshall's apparently has thicker slices because 2:45 was not enough. I had to go to 3:15 to get satisfactory results.
Each different brand of bacon is going to cook slightly differently so tweaking will usually be required. For *ALL* bacon, though, I have to wrap a paper towel over the tray and bacon to keep it from spattering all over the inside of the microwave.

Based on the price, compared to other with similar features, this unit is the least expensive. I was also impressed with the comprehensive directions for installation. I am closer to being Tim (the toolman) Taylor than a professional at home improvements, so I followed the instructions with precision. The results were outstanding. Not only does it look GREAT where my old stove hood used to be, it passed my "popcorn" test, of which, I am particular. No scotching, full bag, satisfying and an extra plus, while I am beaming over my accomplishment, the beep sounds indicating the popcorn was finished, the display read "Enjoy". Am I ever! I have in my "digital locker",courtesy of Amazon, my own .pdf manual. What a great investment in money for the microwave and the time for installation of the unit.
Solidly built, looks great, came with lightbulbs for range light INSTALLED! No cons, but could have used some help with installing, as the manual recommends 2 people install, but I did manage nicely by myself. I would suggest an additional set of hands for final insertion, once preparations are complete. I have only owned this for a day, but, I wanted to tell my tale to give others an incentive, if they are on the edge, to jump at this opprotunity to snazz up the kitchen in a big way and for little out of pocket.
Panasonic wants like $300 for a comparable unit. I am pleased to pay 1/2 as much and get a quality unit such as this. You can even get this for $25 off before January 31st, free shipping (this dude is HEAVY!) and no tax, do the math, it is a steal!
